A Medical Laboratory requires the services of qualified a candidate to fill the post of Phlebotomist. The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of duties involved in the collection of blood and other samples from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Qualifications

5 CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language
Certificate/ Diploma in Phlebotomy
At least three (3) years experience in Phlebotomy
At least one (1) year supervisory experience

Responsibilities

Register patients using Laboratory Information System and collects fees
Perform blood drawing procedures to include venipuncture
Make appointments and visit home patients and offices

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to effectively work in a team environment with minimum supervision
Strong analytical, administrative, time management and problem solving skills
Proficiency in the use of computer application software
Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
Flexibility and versatility to operate in a demanding environment
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Computer literate

Note

Should be flexible and willing to work on a shift basis.

Should be available to work on Saturdays, when required.
