Physiotherapist

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to be commissioned as an Officer and to be appointed to serve as a Physiotherapist in the Regular Force.

Requirements

• Be a citizen of the Commonwealth
• Hold a Bachelor of Science Degree or three (3) years professional Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Be a registered member of the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine.
• Have a minimum of two (2) years post internship experience.
• Have currency in Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and treatment of members of the Force and their families who are referred by a physician.
• Supervision of Physiotherapist students.

Key Competencies

• Sound knowledge of current technology and practices in the profession
• Have an aptitude and desire to assimilate into military life.
