Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer(GMG/SEG1)
Location: Regional Office
The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Reporting to the Regional HIV/STI Programme Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible
for the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities outlined in the Monitoring & Evaluation work plan and contribute to the regular analysis and reporting of datasets in support of policy implementation, service planning and regional performance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Natural Sciences or Nursing
PLUS - At least four (4) years research/surveillance experience
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and Public Health Research/Surveillance
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with professional staff and field officers in collecting, collating, and analysing of data from Monitoring & Evaluation system
- Managing data from sites, parishes and the region
- Overseeing the implementation of various data collection tools and ensure that data
is of the highest quality - Assisting with the revision of data collection tools and make recommendations based on observations at the field level.
- Supporting data entry clerk in developing and maintaining tracking system for reports received and processed
Specific Knowledge Required
- Highly developed analytical skills
- Ability to use SPSS, SAS, STATA or equivalent programme
- Strong communication skills, including report writing and confidence in delivering complex presentations
- Good project management, time management and problem solving skills
- Able to respond to deadlines and prioritize accordingly
- Sound knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methods
