Behaviour Change and Communication Officer (HPC/HPE 2)
The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health with responsibility for the management and delivery of health care and public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive and forward thinking individual to fill the position of Behaviour Change Communication Officer, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Programme for the Parish of St Mary.
Reporting to the Regional Behaviour Change Communication Officer
Qualifications
- Have a Degree/Diploma in Mass Communication, Social Science or Behavioural Science.
- Minimum knowledge in Behavioural Change Theory, Communication Practice.
- Experience in implementation of Behaviour Change Interventions.
- Possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge in dealing with HIV/STI, Behavioural Change models and theory and Public Health. Key responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement work plan using the National Strategic Plan as well as monitor and evaluate targeted BCC Interventions in the parish.
- Coordinate the training of health care personnel and personnel from other organizations including NGOs/CBOs/FBOs.
- Assist in training of Health Care Workers and community based organizations as it relates to HIV/STI.
- Assist in conducting interim and impact evaluation of interventions in the parish.
