Senior Medical Technologist

Reporting to the Laboratory director the successful candidate will ensure that the company system are in compliance with international and local medical protocols.

In discharging their duties, the Senior Medical Technologist will have specific responsibility of managing the technical department for which they have extensive training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited tertiary level institution with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology.
• Certification of supervision and/or management.
• At least five (5) years experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
• Registered with the Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine.
• Trained in ISO 15189 standard.
• Continuing education and certification in area of specialization.
• Strong IT background.
• Experienced with medical laboratory analyzers

Responsibilities

• Managing the clinical and administrative activities of the department to which the individual is assigned.
• Ensuring that quality assurance procedures are maintained at all stages to ensure accurate test results.
• Managing the associated staff of the unit.
• Providing reports as appropriate - to the management team, consultants, external assessors, etc.
