Medical Officer

Title: Medical Officers (MDG/MO 2)

The Commissioner, Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Medical Professionals to fill the following vacancy.

Job summary

Provides primary and continuing medical care to inmates/wards and is usually the first contact for patients needing medical services.

Qualifications

• Holder of a Medical Degree;
• Firsthand experience in developing services in a constantly changing environment and to tight budgetary restraints;
• Experience in working with the socially deprived, institutions, chronic medical conditions, mental health and HIV positive patients;
• Registered with the Jamaica Medical Council;
• At least five (5) years post internship experience.
