Senior Industrial Nurse
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Senior Industrial Nurse in Kingston.
Reporting to the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, recommending and implementing effective health service programme for all employees island-wide and for ensuring the provision of basic diagnostic and clinical services. The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in planning and implementing health education programmes designed to improve efficiency and reduce absenteeism and accident rate and for the provision of effective management of the Wellness Centre, including the Mobile Wellness Unit.
Requirements
- Senior Registered Nurse designation or equivalent professional qualification with special training in Public Health and Industrial Training.
- Training and management.
- A minimum of four years experience in general nursing, with Industrial Nursing experience.
- Ability to diagnose and make decisions in emergencies.
- Sound knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to interview and counsel employees, particularly in regards to health and wellness issues and practices.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of the Commissions Health policies and regulations and directing the administration of the Health Services of the Commission.
- Developing employee programs, such as health education and accident prevention.
- Travelling around the island to investigate, recommend and implement systems for providing improved health care services to employees.
