Assistant Registrar (GMG/SEG 2)
Under the general direction of the Nursing Council of Jamaica, the incumbent operates under the Nurses and Midwives Act 1964 and Regulations 1966. The Assistant Registrar assists with the general administration and management of the Nursing Council and acts for the Registrar in her absence.
Qualifications
- A Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife;
- At least a first degree in Nursing Education or Nursing Administration/Education;
- Minimum of five (5) years post RN/RM experience in Administration /Management exclusive of training years;
- Excellent organizational, managerial, planning, problem solving and leadership skills;
- Possesses good interpersonal relationship and communications skills;
- Be results related and able to meet deadlines in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives Act, 1966;
- Proficient in the use of relevant computer applications.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparation for the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR), Midwifery and Assistant Nursing examinations.
- Coordinates Table marking and collates results of examinations.
- Responsible for registration of all graduates and successful foreign trained applicants.
- Liaise with nursing schools and other agencies relating to training, personnel, indexing and registration
