Contract Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated, suitably qualified and experienced Contract Nurse to join the medical team at Jamalco.

Qualification and Experience

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
• A minimum of three (3) years experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Current registration with Nursing Council of Jamaica
• Excellent computer skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience working in an Emergency Unit

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Occupational Health Administrator and Medical Doctor, this position is accountable for performing the following:

• Nursing duties and other medical functions as may be required from time to time through the incumbent’s direct supervision.
• Daily medical activities e.g. carrying out pre-employment and periodic physical examinations, monitoring health hazards and medical surveillances.
• Preparing reports of activities within the department, as well as handling emergencies as they relate to the Industry.
• Supervision of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
• Coordinating Plant Education Activities and Wellness program.
