Pharmacists

The University Hospital of the West Indies Private Wing —known affectionately as the Tony Thwaites Wing— is a 54 bed non-profit healthcare facility and is the private wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), the largest public hospital in Jamaica and the largest teaching hospital in the region.

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy at the University Hospital of the West Indies, the candidate will be assigned to the Tony Thwaites Wings in-house pharmacy.

Requirements

• Registration as a qualified Pharmacist in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health and the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica without any bonds or disciplinary action on record;
• At least three years of practical service in government and/or retail pharmacy setting;
• Demonstrated administrative management of pharmacy operations and inventory;
• Excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Management of all pharmacy operations at the Tony Thwaites Wing;
• Supervision of the Pharmacy Technician;
• Collaboration with Consultant Physicians and Nurses;
• Execution of all in-patient teaching related  to medication.
