Medical Imaging Practitioner

The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness with responsibility for the management and delivery of health care and public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive and forward thinking individual to fill the position of Medical Imaging Practitioner (HPC/MIP 1) at the Port Antonio Hospital.

Summary: Reporting to the Senior Medical Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for performing activities associated with delivery of diagnostic radiography services within a specified radiology facility.

Requirements

• First degree in diagnostic Imaging or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in a similar position.
  Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

• Performing general x-ray and other imaging procedures according acceptable standards.
• International standards, as directed by protocol and as per medical requisition.
• Performing bedside and operative radiography, in consult with senior radiographer, using prescribed protocols.
• Managing imaging examinations in accordance with approved patient care procedures.
• Manipulating imaging equipment using electrical factors in accordance with radiation safety regulations.

Remuneration

Salary Scale: $1,050,131 — 1,248,276 per annum along with any other allowance(s) attached to the post.
