Regional Behaviour Change Communication Coordinator
The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position:
Regional Behaviour Change Communication Coordinator(HPC/HPE3)
(Salary range $1,624,685 – $1,931,239 per annum and any applicable allowances)
Reporting to the Regional HIV/STI/Tb Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that targeted interventions within the parishes are effectively designed, coordinated and implemented to meet specific objectives of the Region. Attention will be given to priority for local AIDS control efforts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Masters Degree in Health Promotion, Social Work or other related disciplines such,
Anthropology, Sociology, Marketing or Health Communication. - Certification in Project Management.
- Certification in Supervisory Management.
- At least five (5) years experience with related roles.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge in the field of marketing or communications specifically relating to sexually transmitted infections;
- Knowledge in the field of public health planning/working with NGOs/HIV/STI prevention;
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS /STIs;
- Behaviour Change Theories & Models of Intervention;
- Programme evaluation and presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Strong leadership and counseling skills;
- Basic research skills;
- Computer literacy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating targeted interventions that seek to improve or bring change in people’s
attitudes and practices in relation to high risk sexual behaviours; - Liasing with the communities to promote the positioning of HIV/STI prevention materials
and increase condom access especially at high-risk sites; - Coordinating the development and implementation of specific behavioural research as determined by the regional and national directorate;
- Managing, supervising and monitoring Parish HIV/AIDS work plans as it relates to the BCC
component, budget and activities in collaboration with the national level staff; - Collaborating with the Treatment Care and Support and other teams in the region to ensure a comprehensive HIV/STI/AIDS response.
