Associate Psychologist
This Associates provides diagnosis and psychotherapeutic treatment utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to clients 24 years to 35 years. The Associate provides interventions that are ethical and always have the clients best interest in mind.
The Associates is willing to work with young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, phobias, stress, life transitions, communication challenges, relationship concerns, family issues, anger, aggression, low self-esteem etc.
Time commitment is expected to grow from part-time hours of approximately 4 face to face hours per week to full time hours of 30 face to face per week.
Requirements
- Masters/Doctorate in Psychology/Counselling/Mental Health Discipline;
- Trained (or is willing to be trained ) in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with focus on Depression, Anxiety and Trauma;
- Minimum three (3) years experience counselling adults;
- Trained in providing Telehealth Services;
- Licensed with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine;
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Self-aware, understanding of own culture, identity, biases, prejudices, power, privilege and stereotypes;
- Ability to navigate cultural issues as they relate to trans and cisgender realities, sexual orientation and preferences and socio-economic considerations.
Experience
- Ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives and issues into therapeutic conversations;
- Experience or training in facilitating group counselling sessions;
- Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with individuals from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences;
- Experience providing risk assessment and crisis.
