Health Promotion and Education Officer

The North East Regional Health Authority a statutory body under the Ministry of Health with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive and experienced individual to fill the position of Health Promotion and Education Officer (St. Ann).

Reports to the Medical Officer (Health).

The ideal candidate must possess

• A Bachelors Degree (BSc) in Health, Education, Social/Behavioural sciences;
• Training in Communication and Research methods.;
• A minimum of two (2) years working experience;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc);
• Excellent management and leadership skills;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Good time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate and plan Health Education Programmes in the Parish with the health team;
• Implement and evaluate Health Education Programmes in collaboration with the health team;
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to improve health and behavior change at the community level.
