Consultant, Internal Medicine

The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness, with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary, and Portland, is seeking to fill the position of Consultant Radiologist at the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital.

Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Medical Officer, participates in the daily administrative and technical services associated
with the routine operation of the Radiology services

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School;
• Doctor of Medicine with a specialty in Radiology;
• Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica;
• A minimum of five (5) years post graduate experience within the specialty of which at least two (2) should be at the consultant level;
• Ability to provide effective leadership and work as part of a team;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships
  with a wide cross section of professionals and organizations;
• Excellent communication, analytical and forecasting skills;
• Excellent time management skills;
• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Performing ultrasound scans and ultrasound guided interventional procedures.
• Performing and supervising fluoroscopic studies.
• Diagnostic reporting of plain X-rays, MRI Studies and interfacing with Radiographers regarding examination
  protocols and additional views.
• Formulating and reporting on examinations as the primary reporter/interpreter in a timely manner.
• Supervision and Mentoring of Radiographers, Residents and supporting staff to include critiquing studies & reports.
• Participating in all treatment and management of difficult cases being  treated on the unit.
• Consulting regarding treatment and management of patients on other services  within the hospital from medical practitioners who require in this specialty.

Remuneration

• Salary Scale: $3,568,177 – 4,241,442 per annum along with any other allowance(s) attached to the post.
