Staff Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated, suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Medical team at Jamalco.

Under the director of the Occupational Health Administrator and Medical Doctor, this position is accountable for performing the duties listed below.

Qualification and Experience

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing;
• A minimum of three (3) years experience;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Current registration with Nursing Council of Jamaica;
• Excellent computer skills;
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
• Experience working in Emergency Unit.

Responsibilities

• Nursing duties and other medical functions as may be required from time to time through the incumbent’s direct supervision.
• Daily medical activities e.g. carrying out pre-employment and periodic physical examinations, monitoring health hazards and medical surveillances.
• Preparing reports of activities within the department, as well as handling emergencies as they relate to the Industry.
• Supervision of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
• Coordinating Plant Education Activities and Wellness program.
