CHIEF ORDERLIES (HSC/HS 3)
The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a strong, dynamic, and proactive individual to fill the position of Chief Orderlies (HSC/HS 3) for Annotto Bay Hospital.
Summary
Under the general direction of the Hospital Administrator, the incumbent is responsible for the supervision of housekeeping personnel in all departments; coordinating activities to ensure areas are properly cleaned in a timely manner; preparing rosters, assigning duties, inspecting work, investigating complaints regarding housekeeping services, and taking corrective action(s).
Requirements
- Four (4) CXC subjects;
- Certificate in Supervisory Management from a recognized institution; PLUS
- Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience at a supervisory level.
Responsibilities
- Supervising all Male Orderlies and Attendants;
- Preparing rosters on a monthly basis for Porters;
- Conducting meetings with Portering staff at least once monthly;
- Ensuring all Porters are professionally dressed and company ID cards are worn whilst on duty;
- Monitoring assigned work areas daily to ensure all relevant departments are staffed;
- Liaising with department heads daily to address problems/concerns and performance of Male Orderlies;
- Assigning Orderlies as necessary to ambulance, on-multi-patient transport unit as requested by Hospital Administrator and Nursing Sisters or designates;
- Evaluating staff annually using the PMAS evaluation tool, for appointed staff, and as necessary for contract staff;
- Participating in interviews for new workers;
- Providing incident reports as necessary to the Hospital Administrator;
- Recommending disciplinary action for individual orderlies as necessary in accordance with protocols established by the North-East Regional Health Authority or the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Remuneration
- Salary Scale: $ 1,132,688 – 1,346,410 per annum along with any other allowance(s) attached to the post.
