Director of Nursing Services
A private hospital in the corporate area urgently requires the services of a Registered Nurse.
The Director of Nursing Services formulates policies and procedures, directs and administers the Nursing programme of the Hospital, maintain standards of patient care and advises medical staff, departmental heads and CEO in matters related to nursing services. Responsibilities also include the effective supervision of all nursing personnel in order to ensure a high degree of patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- MSc in Nursing Administration and midwifery from an accredited tertiary institution;
- Certificate in 1st level Nursing Administration and General Management from a recognized tertiary institution;
- Training in Supervisory Management;
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of management practice and clinical practice;
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica;
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica in General Nursing nd Midwifery.
Specific skills and competence
- Sound knowledge of the National Health Policy, Industrial and Human Relations;
- Working knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws especially as it relates to the nursing profession;
- High level of confidentiality;
- Working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications;
- Sound knowledge of Strategic Planning and Implementation processes;
- Good report writing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, team building and supervisory skills;
- Ability to maintain professional standards and communicate effectively;
- Sound judgement and experience in planning and organizing in order to accomplish goals.
