Accident and Emergency Manager
Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of: Accident and Emergency Manager (GMG/AM3)
The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health and Wellness) is currently seeking to employ an accident & Emergency Manager (GMG/AM3) for the Falmouth Public General Hospital. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the incumbent will be expected to (see below):
Core Responsibilities

To manage, direct and coordinate the administrative and non-medical functions of the A & E Departments;

To supervise and coordinate the registration of patients and the collection of hospital fees;

Request the assistance of the assessment officer and customer service representative when necessary thus ensuring those patients are dealt with promptly and with courtesy;

To prepare a monthly report of the Department’s activities for submission to the Chief Executive Officer for review;

To liaise with the Pharmacy, X-Ray and Laboratory departments in the maintenance of a system for their services to be readily available to patients in emergency situations;

To develop and maintain a system to ensure that adequate and appropriate medical, non-medical supplies and equipment are available on a continuous basis;

Manage a team of customer service staff;

Train staff to deliver a high standard of customer service;

Communicate with the Hospital Administrators regarding concerns and needs for appropriate resolution;

Analyze data collected by customer service staff, sharing findings and recommendations with management team;

Work with management on service initiatives;

Refer matters to the relevant Heads of Departments regarding patient care issues;

Conduct periodic customer satisfaction survey.
Specific knowledge / Skills required
-
Proficiency in the relevant computer applications;
-
Excellent management skills;
-
Excellent data analysis and report writing skills;
-
Excellent observational skills.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Management Studies or its equivalent;
- At least two (2) years experience in a similar capacity;
- Certificate in Supervisory Management would be an asset.
