Sessional Nurse

Applications are invited from suitable candidate to fill the position of Sessional Nurse in the HR/Medical Department located at Port Esquivel, St. Catherine.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in Nursing or its equivalent
• At least five (5) years as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and working in a hospital setting (Critical Care and Accident and Emergency Registered Nurse would be a distinct advantage.
• A valid license from the Nursing Council of Jamaica.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent oral communication skills as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• A reliable motor car would be an asset.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to provide sessions on three (3) shifts. Duties will include, but is not limited to:

• Supervising and managing the operations of the Industrial Health Centre on shifts.
• Making sound decisions and taking initiative regarding the treatment and management of occupational health emergencies, medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Arranging for and assisting with the medical examinations of employees (periodic medicals) and job applicants (pre-employment medicals).
