Psychologist (HPC/ALH 1)
Practical Nurse needed.
Medical office in Kingston requires the services of a Practical Nurse.
Requirements
- Masters degree in the Clinical Psychology, from a recognized tertiary institution with three years working experience in the field of Psychology preferably within the public sector: OR
- BSc. in Early Childhood Education, Child Development with emphasis in assessment or its equivalent in Social Sciences with five (5) years relevant experience in the field of psychology;
- Registered in practice with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Identifies psychological, emotional or behavioural issues in the children that interface with the early childhood sector through appropriate assessment;
- Monitors childrens progress through regular meetings or sessions;
- Develops and implements personalized treatment plants and therapeutic processes with children and make modifications as necessary and administer needs assessment and psychological intervention programmes/plans for children;
- Provides individual counselling services to children that interface with the education system as necessary;
- Participates as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in case-conferences and consultations for children;
- Devises or creates assessment tools, including data collection instruments (surveys, questionnaires and general psycho-social instruments) to gather information about the needs of children who come into contact through the Jamaica School Readiness Assessments (JSRA);
- Develop relevant forms (intake, reporting, needs assessments etc.) and provides administrative support to the Jamaica School Readiness Assessment (JSRA) processes;
- Assists with the coordination of activities of non-governmental agencies that provide community services and psychological intervention programmes that will address the needs of students identified through JSRA Processes;
- Guides crisis intervention and follow up support as necessary;
- Assists in the design and implementation of capacity-building interventions;
- Ensures that effective Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism are in place to track counselling/psychological interventions.
Remuneration
Salary scale: $4,359,501 - $5,182,077 per annum and any other allowances attached to the post.
