Chief Medical Imaging Practitioner

The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health &  Wellness with responsibility for the management   and delivery of health care and public health   services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary   and Portland, is seeking dynamic, proactive and   forward-thinking individuals to fill the position of  Chief Medical Imaging Practitioner (HPC/MIP 4) at  the Port Antonio Hospital.

Reporting to the Senior Medical Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for performing  activities associated with delivery of diagnostic  radiography services within a specified radiology  facility.

Requirements

• First degree in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent;
• Certificate in Supervisory Management;
• One (1) year experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Performing general x-ray and other  imaging procedures according to  acceptable standards international  standards, as directed by protocol and as  per medical requisition;
• Performing emergency radiography  outside of normal working hours;
• Performing bedside and operative  radiography, using appropriate equipment  and according to prescribed protocols;
• Managing imaging examinations in  accordance with approved patient care  procedures;
• Manipulating imaging equipment using  electrical factors in accordance with  radiation safety regulations;
• Maintaining assigned work area in an  attractive and sanitary manner;
• Maintaining good interpersonal relations  with staff, patients and other members of  the health team;
• Performing any other duties within the  span of control of the post and as  determined by the exigencies of the  service.

Remuneration

Salary Scale: $5,055,684 – 6,009,620 per annum along with any other allowance(s) attached to the post.
