Occupational Therapist (OT3)

Position: Occupational Therapist (HPC/OT3)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Medical Services Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Job Purpose

Occupational Therapist will be responsible for facilitating the development and rehabilitation of clients with mental, emotional and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy. Utilize skills of occupational analysis to bridge the gap between the clients abilities and the behavioural, cognitive, emotional, social and physical demands of a job within the contextual environment of work. Also facilitate the transition from worker readiness (at home/community), re-integration (work), to re-establishing resilience and sustainability at work. Work with a team of clinicians, focusing on the interaction between clients, environments and the requirements of the job.

Education & Experience

• Current occupational therapist licence;
• Minimum of one year of recent work experience as an occupational therapist;
• Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Ministry of Health & Wellness and the Council of Professional Supplementary to Medicine;
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification;
• Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) by Council of Professional Supplementary to Medicine and Jamaica Occupational Health and Safety Professionals Association (JOHSPA).

Salary

Salary range: $5,863,044 - $6,969,317 per annum
