Position: District Medical Officer (HPC/MO 2)

Location: Hanover Health Department

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical school;
  
• Satisfactory completion of the Internship and Senior House Officer programmes;
• Five (5) years of engagement as a District Medical Officer 1 (MO1) OR
• Post-graduate training in Public Health and two (2) years of engagement as a MO1;
• Experience in disease surveillance and control. Specify licensing or certification necessary for the job;
• Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of general
  patient care and has the required clinical and core competencies to utilize knowledge gained through history taking, physical examination to make medical diagnosis and formulate individualized treatment/management plans;
• The District Medical Officer 2 also promotes and encourages screening tests at different stages of the lifecycle, participates actively in disease surveillance and makes appropriate referrals for specialist consultation and diagnostic tests;
• The District Medical Officer 2 is also
  responsible for carrying out public health
  and programme management activities as
  assigned.
  

Salary

Per annum: $7,885,142 - $9,372,956
