Nurse Coordinator

Position: Nurse Coordinator (HPC/RN 6) (vacant)
Salary: $ 7,885,142 per annum
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Coordinator responsible for the efficient coordination of nursing and midwifery services across designated areas. The role involves ensuring quality standards in patient care, staff development, and compliance with healthcare regulations. In addition the incumbent will also contribute to the achievement of the Ministry`s objectives through the establishment of national norms, standards and procedures for nursing/midwifery and the provision of technical support to the Chief Nursing Officer.
Requirements
- Master of Science Degree in Health Administration/Nursing Administration/Public Health or the equivalent;
- Certificate/Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing;
- Certificate/Bachelor of Science degree in Midwifery;
- Certificate in Nursing Administration;
- A minimum of seven years’ postgraduate experience in Nursing and Midwifery, minimum of three years in a supervisory position ;
- Current Nursing and Midwifery license by the Nursing Council of Jamaica;
- Experience in project/programme coordination and management in the health sector.
Responsibilities
- To provide technical support to the Nursing and Midwifery Services Unit for effective development and implementation of programmes/activities for the achievement of the Unit’s goals;
- To plan coordinate and monitor the implementation of programmes relating to the goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan of the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Unit. Provide support in programme planning and management;
- To collaborate with various government and non-government organizations in developing initiatives that will increase investment to support strengthening nursing and midwifery workforce;
- To collaborate with the DCNO and senior Nursing & Midwifery leaders on the development, enhancement and support of best practice standards for nurses and midwives.
