Senior Clinical Psychologist

Requirements

• Master`s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Psychology
• Experience in providing Clinical therapy for patients experiencing trauma.
• Ability to engage and diffuse crisis situations.
• Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with HIV Patients with a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Interacting and counselling PLHIV`s regarding problems such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations, in order to modify behavior and/or to improve personal, social, and vocational adjustment.
• Developing and implementing individual treatment plans, specifying type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
• Obtaining and studying medical, psychological, social, and family histories, by interviewing individuals, couples, or families, and by reviewing records.
• Discussing the treatment of problems with clients.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of counselling or treatments, and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, and then modify plans and diagnoses as necessary.
• Identifying psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues, and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
• Selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests in order to obtain information on individuals intelligence, achievements, interests, and personalities.
• Utilizing a variety of treatment methods such as psychotherapy, hypnosis, behavior modification, stress reduction therapy, psychodrama, and play therapy.
• Referring clients to other specialists, institutions, or support services as necessary.
• Collaborating with the Consultant and Clinical Coordinator in producing research for the Department.
• Conducting and facilitating therapy of PLHIV`s identified for specific support groups.
