Qualifications and Experience

Minimum required education and experience for Core Lecturers in Nursing:

• Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Post-Basic training certification in a related specialization
• Teacher training certification from an accredited institution
• Current license to practice nursing in Jamaica
• At least three (3) nursing experience
• At least two (2) years teaching experience

Note

Registered Nurses without teaching experience may be employed as Assistant Lecturers initially. However, it is expected that within two (2) years of employment, the person engaged would have attained teacher.
