Laboratory Technician

The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a Statutory body under the Ministry of Health responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position:

Laboratory Technician

Category: Medical Technology

Location: Mandeville Regional Hospital 

Description: Under the direct supervision of the Medical Technologist, the Laboratory Technician will exercise responsibility for phlebotomy, performing routine investigations in order to aid in diagnoses of patients.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate in Laboratory Technician
• Three (3) GCE/CXC subjects preferably English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject
• Some Training in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Proficient in Phlebotomy
• Competent in Microsoft Words & Excel Spread Sheets.

Specific Knowledge

• Capable of following instructions
• Capable of mastering techniques
• Concentration in preparing/performing analysis
• Work with minimal supervision
