Pharmacist 3 (HPC/PHS 3)
This officer is responsible for co-ordinating and managing the activities in the area of assignment and also supervises the relevant staff. The incumbent should identify problems and implement corrective measures as required and prepare reports for the supervisors. The parish pharmacist co-ordinates primary care services and is required to travel in order to service the clinics on a scheduled basis.
Qualification and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited institution with a Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy
- Registration with the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica after completion of Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy
- Minimum of four years service
- Computer skills
Specific Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of regulatory framework related to the practice of Pharmacy
- Knowledge of norms and standards related to Ministry of Health Drug Policy Eg. VEN list, Inventory Management Policy, Quality Assurance
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices of the World Health Organization
- Knowledge of new trends and development in pharmacy

- Ability to plan and organise
- Ability to delegate and supervise effectively
- Ability to display leadership qualities and to set and maintain professional standards
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff and others
