Medical Social Worker

The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Health responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Medical Social Worker.

Under the general supervision of the Medical Officer of Health and Regional Social Worker and working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing holistic treatment care and support, the Social Worker has responsibility to conduct comprehensive social investigations in order to identify the social, emotional and economic needs of people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) and initiate appropriate case management strategies.

Qualifications

• First Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Counselling.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in the public health system
• Experience of working with PLHWA is desirable
