Qualifications

• A specialist qualification in Paediatrics recognized by The University of the West Indies such DM,
• MRCPCH or Board Certification in Paediatrics from the American Board of Paediatrics or an additional postgraduate degree from an approved and accredited university/institution, would be an asset.
• A further academic qualification would be an advantage.

Special Responsibilities

• Supervision of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students

Personal Attributes

• At least five (5) years postgraduate experience in the specialty. 
• Formal specialist training as well as expertise in a sub- specialty would be an asset.
• Considerable academic and professional experience including teaching and research at the tertiary level, a record of distinguished original work, excellent publication record in peer-reviewed international journals and membership in reputable professional bodies is desirable.
• Proven success in grant application will be an asset.

Note

The Department places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team environment.

Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of English is essential.
