Professor of Public Health/Epidemiology


Location: University of the West Indies, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Department of Community Health & Psychiatry

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. or advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or related subject. A Public Health physician is preferred.
  • All suitable candidates will be considered. Exposure to different areas of Public Health, with a blend of public health practice, research and academia is preferred.
  • The successful candidate should possess related academic and professional experience:
    a. Public Health practice of a high standard with clear results
    b. A record of distinguished original work
    c. A record of research in peer reviewed international journals
    d. Teaching at the tertiary level

 

Special Expertise/Areas of Specialization

The appointed Professor is expected to provide leadership in the Doctor of Public Health - a professional post-graduate degree geared to train public health leaders for the Caribbean who are equipped to practice anywhere in the world.

 

Personal Attributes

Must have the ability to interact positively with academic and support staff as well as students, and must be able to effectively interface with the Public Health Sector and other relevant stakeholders within the Caribbean Region.
