Sessional Nurse

The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech), Jamaica), Dome Street, Western Campus seeks to identify an experienced professional to fill the position of a Sessional Nurse.

Qualifications

• B.Sc./Diploma/Certificate in Nursing with Midwifery of Emergency Room Certification
• Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica as a Registered Nurse (RN)/Midwife/Public Health Nurse

Additional Requirements

• The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years experience. He/she must have knowledge of the laws, codes and regulations governing health care delivery, particularly in a university environment; through knowledge of nursing theory, principles and techniques; knowledge of public health nursing practices; sound knowledge of patient care, treatment, planning and assessment; knowledge of the use and care of basic medical equipment; ability to work independently, exercising initiative; ability to administer medication, perform treatment and operate medical equipment; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
