Medical Technologist
Reporting to the head of the Department, the incumbent is responsible for performing and reporting of results on a variety of standardized laboratory tests in such clinical fields as Chemistry, Microbiology, and Haematology. The incumbent is also responsible for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory testing by maintaining adequate supplies, keeping equipment in operational condition and by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
The incumbent may perform assignments in more than one of the above clinical testing areas depending on the workload.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology

At least five (5) years professional experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist

At least two (2) years supervisory experience

- Ability to effectively work in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Strong analytical, administrative and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in the use of computer application software
- Very good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Flexibility and versatility to operate in a demanding environment
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Knowledge of the disciplines of Microbiology, Haematology, Chemistry and knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and interpersonal communication skills both with patients and health professionals

- Assist in the preparation of monthly statistical report by keeping accurate records on all laboratory procedures performed.
- Perform duties and functions necessary for the efficient and quality operations of the department
- Perform emergency duties as required
Special Requirement
- Registration by the Council of Professions Supplementary of Medicine
- Must own a reliable motor vehicle
